Job Description:
Supervises Custodial staff, Inspects, monitors, and coordinates all City buildings and facility needs and requests for repairs, schedules and monitors monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance agreements, and records as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the direction of affiliated personnel in the performance of assigned tasks, ensuring that correct policies, procedures, and safety standards are maintained. 
  • Oversee preventative maintenance with vendors.
  • Assist with repairs as needed to follow all federal and state laws by building rules and regulations.
  • Operate various types of lifts and equipment and use a variety of power and hand tools.
  • Coordinates tasks and assignments with Maintenance Supervisor and Parks Superintendent.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment on a routine basis.
  • Perform light carpentry, electrical, and or plumbing duties as assigned.
  • Ensure work orders are completed on time and filled out/saved appropriately.
  • In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, overseas and directs custodial staff and reviews work schedules.
  • Assists in Emergency Management Operations as necessary.
  • Serves as essential emergency personnel when required.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Training: High School graduation or its equivalent plus at least 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance management role or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Knowledge of: electrical, plumbing, and general/commercial construction procedures; proper maintenance and repairs of facilities, buildings, and equipment.
  • Skills/Ability toperform a wide range of repairs and routine maintenance of city buildings and facilities; ability to interpret blueprints, specification and schematics; proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel); excellent organizational skills and prioritization skills; and understand and follow instruction; operates and maintain a variety of power and hand tools; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public; tolerate outside working conditions, including exposer to adverse weather conditions.
  • Safety/Physical Requirements: Heavy.  Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, and using a force equal to ninety (90) pounds. 
  • Certifications & Licenses Required: Possess an appropriate Texas Driver’s License.
